I Have Only Today

My life is an instant,

An hour which passes by;

My life is a moment

Which I have no power to stay.

You know, O my God,

That to love you here on earth —

I have only today.

– Theresa of Lisieux

We have only today. Only today to love Jesus here on earth.

Today Jesus will come to us in disguise. Will we recognize Him?

Today we will be given the opportunity to serve Jesus as we show love, compassion, gentleness, kindness, forgiveness, grace, patience and joy to those with whom our lives intersect. Will they recognize Jesus in us?

Today. We’re not guaranteed tomorrow.

Love well today.

In loving memory of my mom, Revena Gritters (March 26, 1934 — April 4, 2018), who spent her days loving well.
